The Sipi Falls region is a hiker’s paradise! Choose from among a series of popular waterfall walks or talk to our guides about custom options to craft the ultimate scenic workout. Hikes can range from a leisurely 15 minute stroll to a strenuous all-day affair. Numerous viewpoints are also accessible by vehicle.
Sipi Arabica Coffee is one of the finest coffees in the world and gets more attention with each passing season. Visit a local coffee farmer to learn about his work and the lifecycle of the crop. On your return to the lodge, you’ll pound, sort, roast, and finally enjoy your very own cup of coffee, no doubt with a fresh appreciation for the time and effort that goes into each cup!
Mt Elgon Expeditions & Day Hikes
Mt Elgon (4321m) is the eighth highest mountain in Africa and the second largest freestanding volcanic base in the world rising more than 3000m above the surrounding plains and dominating the local landscape. Day hikes and multi-day summit treks are available to those interested in exploring the mountain.
Climbing on nearby crags can be arranged, as can abseil descents from the top of nearby Chebonet Falls. There are a variety of climbs to suit all standards, made up from 15 sport climbing routes ranging from 10m – 35m. All activities are conducted by the trained staff of Mulima Mountain Adventures, and CE approved climbing helmets are provided free of charge.

The potential for mountain biking in Sipi is incredible! Bring your bike and explore the long, fast sections of single track, some technical rocky sections, and the inevitable epic climbs back out of the valley floor. We do not have bikes for hire at the lodge, but will be happy to provide secure storage for yours and help you map out your ride.
Go fishing at a pool of rainbow trout on a secluded section of the Sipi river above the uppermost waterfall. No prior experience is necessary. Current policy is catch-and-release only.
